About this installation…

This property originally had flags laid to the driveway and patio. As they had been down for many years and had quite a lot of traffic in the way of cars being driven and parked on the drive, the flags were beginning to come loose. This not only made the driveway unsightly but also made it a very unsafe area, meaning the customer couldn’t use any of their garden furniture on the patio.

This was a big project, not only was there a huge area of pattern imprinted concrete to be installed – 280m², but there was also a great amount of drainage to be installed in order to fit the driveway to correct regulations so planning permission wasn’t required. The whole area was excavated and drainage put in where necessary. The steps were built using Marshalls KL blocks for the edges and infilled with concrete, The rest of the concrete was poured over two pours in order to allow access for the customer. The driveway was printed in Old English Cobble pattern and the patio Random Stone, with both being coloured the same in Russet with a Chocolate release to keep a warm but bright look. The driveway incorporates a printed circle and the patio a stained compass, which really compliment them and give them a bit more character.
