Ravenhurst Drive – Bolton
About this installation…
This installation took much planning and liaising with our customer as the driveways lead to two different houses, one being a red brick stone built house and another a very contemporary looking house with render and grey features. The driveway was previously laid with loose stone which was beginning to become loose under foot leaving the driveway unsafe for both cars and pedestrians walking. Our customer wanted to transform the driveway with two modern and classic driveways to suit both houses. After trips back and forth and a lot of planning work taking place, we finally got round to putting a final plan together.
The works started by building a small stone wall to separate the two driveways but building it only to a height that each house didn’t lose their view with the wall. With there already being a wall on the other side of the driveway we wanted to keep the stone and stepping down of the wall the same to the new wall being built.
Once the wall was in place we started the preparation for the pattern imprinted concrete to be installed. This meant drainage was fitted in order to suit planning and building regulations. A huge amount of Marshalls KL blocks were installed to create a border to separate the pattern imprinted concrete and the planters.
The concrete was then ready to be poured, this was done over 3 pours in order to be able to pour, colour and print the concrete to the highest standard. The concrete was varied in the way it was coloured and printed, to the bottom of the larger driveway the customer wanted a tampered concrete edge to the area, coloured in Platinum Silver. The main (middle) area of the bottom driveway was then coloured in Dove Grey and printed in Ashlar Slate. Both driveways were coloured and printed the same in Classic Grey and Cobble.
On completion of the concrete and the anti-slip sealant being applied, we continued our work with a small area of landscaping to the front of the property. The area used to be a pile of wet soil which water ran from on to the driveway. We took away all of this soil and prepped the area with Type 1 MOT to act as a soak away. The soil was then laid and turf on top of this.

What the customer said…
“What a great bunch of lads – Tony, Colin, Steve. The job they have done is excellent. They start early, work hard, and leave everything clean and tidy. Couldn’t ask for a better team, nothing is too much trouble for them.”
